My love affair with Art began at age two, when I took my first dance class. From that first day, a passion awakened inside of me, that still burns today. For the next eighteen years I ate, slept, and breathed dancing. I danced with several Elite Dance Companies in the Tri-State Area, and went on to dance competitively for over a decade, winning a multitude of awards. I had various accomplishments during that eighteen year period, a few highlights being: performing in The Nutcracker with the Moscow Ballet, and being a member of the U.S. Dance Troupe that wen ton to win the 1998 World Tap Dance Championship in Slovenia.
By chance, I was place in an elective acting class in my senior year of high school, in order to fulfill graduation requirements. Being someone who never loved school, though always had good grades, it was a shock to see me take such a liking to a class. I fell in love right away. I had always had a serious affection for film, and had been putting on shows and plays in my basement for as long as anyone could remember, but had never really considered it as a career option. But once I got a taste of it, I could never picture myself doing anything else.
At nineteen, I left my home in the small town of North Branford, Connecticut and headed for The Big City to pursue my dream. I immediately enrolled in the prestigious New York Film Academy and began to dedicate every moment of my day, and every ounce of my being to this great passion of mine.
Since then, I have had my share of triumphs, and have put on some performances that I am truly proud of, but discovered that I had been putting all of my effort and myself into going on auditions for movies and roles that weren't necessarily meaningful to me. It began to become very much about the "biz" and this audition and that audition, and not so much about why I delved into this world in the first place. Everything I did, I did with great passion. I had a great deal of invaluable experiences on different sets and began to grow tremendously as both a person and actor, but artistically I did not feel fulfilled.
I have this intense desire ... this intense NEED to tell stories that I am passionate about. Playing a role here or there that may or may not mean something to me is not enough. I want every day, every project to be meaningful. I want to impact masses of people with my work - my art - my creations. And that is how I came to realize my true calling: to spend the rest of my life developing and producing films that are powerful, insightful ... films that mean something to me, and will hopefully mean something to other people.
I believe my purpose in life is to share this part of myself, and my gift of storytelling with the world through the compelling, thought provoking films that I will make. It is so fascinating to me the power that films have: they can make you laugh, cry, consider things about your life that you ordinarily would not ... they make you FEEL. That is what I want to do - make people FEEL ... to make people come alive with my dreams. My ultimate goal being to have a positive impact on people and their lives, and to put profits from my films into charitable organizations; to do my part in making this world a better place.
